5 HEALTH BENEFITS FROM TAKING SWIMMING LESSONS

Are you thinking of taking swimming lessons in London to improve your technique, your health or add another way to socialize and be active?
Swimming has so many benefits to your mind and general health. 
I would share with you 5 health benefits of Swimming that applies to my clients which is based on feedbacks that I received from them and I will also share what applies to me:

BOOST BRAIN HEALTH 
Swimming has been shown to improve memory and cognitive function: swimming is a complex sport, as it is a full body workout and when learning how to swim it's a combination of different body parts in action with the aim of body coordination: you need to actually memorize all these movements. 

Example when doing front crawl: there is kicking, breathing, arms, head position and timing involved. A lot of remember and to coordinate, but lessons after lessons, clients remembered and process the instructions faster. 

CALM MIND
Swimming releases Serotonin, which is known to reduce depression, anxiety and improve moods. Serotonin: an hormone that influences your body’s mood)

Calm mind applies to me personally, I am a very active person with busy schedule, most of my time I am outdoor and also try to do some work and keep my days full of different activities.

Swimming relaxes me, it also helps me to think better, to be more productive for my swimming school and helps me to organize my work better for the following days. After having a bad day, everyone can go through some bad days. If I am near a pool,  I go for a swim, even for 15 min and try to enjoy each minute as it will help me to end my day on a positive note.

People who are suffering from panic attacks, who are there to learn how to swim: learn step by step how to calm down with their breathing, as Swimming has different breathing techniques.

REDUCE STRESS
I have clients telling me that swimming lessons help to relax, calm down, and reduce the depressed feelings. Calm water, no noise, calm atmosphere to learn how to swim are facts that improves the overall relaxing process. A quiet swimming pool and not too crowded also help to relax and to learn faster.

WAY OF SOCIALISING
I integrated Group Classes into Flamingo Swim School, as it is a great way to meet new people, network, socialize with swimmers of the same levels, learn from others and make new friends. Covid situations made everything or mostly virtually, and people were less outdoor and it did affect people who handled it badly or who are not used to being indoors. I got a lot of demand for swimming lessons. After Covid ends, clients telling me they want to be out of their house, be active and be surrounded by people.

IMPROVE SLEEP
Swimming is a full body workout and a swimming lesson is quite intense physically and mentally. After swimming you feel naturally tired from your whole body. I am not waking up during the night if the day before I had swimming sessions. Swimming as a weekly activity is a way to improve your sleeping pattern.

I have a lot of clients who are interested to add swimming as part of their weekly activity but also mainly after work. After 5pm. Some work long hours sitting on a chair in front of a computer, multiple video meetings or remote working and feel brain dead at the end of the day and stressed/anxious/overwhelmed.
